Harvested in late spring—traditionally around St George’s Day (23 April)—Kentish asparagus is prized for its freshness, as it’s typically picked and sold locally within hours. It’s commonly enjoyed simply steamed or grilled, often served with butter, hollandaise sauce, or fresh eggs to highlight its natural taste.
